2nd six weeks we had 460 students who had no discipline logged in. We will have a No Discipline Party Friday, Nov. 13 during 4th pd. At 8th grade, we had 148 out of 186 (79%) with no discipline, 7th grade 145 out of 175 (83%), and 6th grade 167 out of 202 (83%). Thanks to all of these students for making good decisions!!!
During 2nd six weeks, teachers and other adults gave out 51 PAWS cards for positive behaviors and attitudes. This is a nice increase from 1st six weeks. Each student received a reward ranging from gift cards for food items at local businesses, school t-shirts, Echols bucks, and free admissions to in-school events.
Each six weeks we reward the students who had no discipline logged in the computer. We have a large number of students who will attend the No Discipline Party this time. During 4th period, we allow the to go to the stadium for 30 minutes of free time. At the 8th grade level, we had 167 out of 188 with no discipline problems (89%). At the 7th grade level, we had 161 out of 176 (91%). At the 6th grade level, 170 out of 204 (83%).
Also, our teachers can give PAWS cards to students who show positive behaviors. This stands for Praise Aimed at Worthy Students. We had 25 cards given out during 1st six weeks.
We encourage good decisions and attitudes at all times. We try to comment on these things on a regular basis. This effort will never hit every student who is doing the right thing, but we hope to encourage all of them to stop and think and make good choices!
